The Hermit Songs Project is a collaborative art film project that was imagined, created and produced by myself, Shayne Gray (photographer/videographer), and Heidi Wall (pianist).

 

Using our 2016 recording of Samuel Barber’s Hermit Songs, the Hermit Songs Project presents a visual interpretation of this music in order to push the boundaries of art song presentation and reach new audiences.

 

The Hermit Songs Project was funded in 2018 by 133 Kickstarter Backers and was premiered in Propeller Coffee Co. in Toronto in 2018. The audio was recorded with Chestnut Hall Music.
